Biggest mistake I made was trusting Cluen folks. IT became expensive and didn't do what I wanted it to do. Complex and slow.

Dillistone was really nice when selling, but over time the cosst just kept going up. I had no idea I'd have to commit $20K when the original promises were made ($7,500).

VoIP phones provide me all the flexibility and customization I needed, but users need to be prepared for service levels that are below landline quality. About 1 out of 15 calls is less than perfect. Need to hang up and retry. Still worth it, but just a user expectation thing.

Every recruiter should evaluate the newest ATS in the block called CATS. Its simple, incredibly fast, and most importantly, its open source (free). http://www.catsone.com

While it doesnt have all the bells and whistles of the big boys ($$$), it offers 90% of what most recruiters need at a low price of $29/month or free if you can download and install it on your own server.

I spoke with the CATS team, and I have learned that hundreds of recruiters have already abandoned their expensive and bulky ATS packages in favor of CATS.
